Summering Totemic was a session recorded in the end of June 2022, using the Arturia Microfreak's Harmonic oscillator engine in conjunction with two low-pass filters, a time-domain pitch shifter and a four-head digital tape delay system, with final processing completed a few months later using Goldwave's Frequency Blend processor. It explores overtones of bell-like surfaces and metallic resonance, through a lens of softened filtering and probabilistic granular synthesis, producing a warm bath of tones that accumulate into a comfortable fog. Influenced in part by Wolfgang Voigt's earlier GAS recordings, as well as a little bit of Oval's 94 Diskont in the chordal profiles, Summering Totemic is a slight recall of warmer weather held back from publication until the coldest season arrives, where it will be more apt for cozy listening and disarming meditative usages.
