For the fiftieth subscriber-exclusive recording in the Vibratelepathos catalog, I am pleased to offer 'Rainfall on the Rusted Bell'—a transfiguration of 'The Time Bell in the Empty Archipelago' from the Sleepbuilding broadcasts. This session is procedurally generated by resampling the input of the original broadcast and reorganizing it with granular tools, panned delays, filters, pitch processors and fast Fourier transforms.

It is an apt companion piece to 'Time Bell' in both a topical sense and a philosophical one—it places the composition into different contexts, with different considerations, and paints a solemn picture of entropic decline as the years pass by.

I have long been fascinated with the notion that entropy applies to time itself, even though I've had many discussions with other thinkers about it and the general consensus is that entropy is simply what happens when time exists and modulates everything within it. It is an interesting thought, however, to think that even time as a process—or something alive in a way we cannot perceive it—must also have a beginning, middle and end, and will one day stop. Even the largest and slowest wave, riding with the tallest crest, will one day return to the shore.
