ORNATE CORAL RELIQUARIES was the first of two sessions undertaken in May of 2021, using the R-EW Audioholistics modular system to explore and transfigure audio from a four-track cassette, initially recorded in 2016 for the purpose of live performance audio-collage work. The cassette contained processed sections of vinyl records, minimal electric guitar feedback, vocal experiments and sustained tones from a vintage Heathkit AO-1 oscillator. The tape was played back via a Vesta Fire MR-10B multitrack machine, which allowed selective isolation of any of the four audio channels previously recorded, and this output was routed directly into the R-EW system to produce what you hear.
